I must say I have never heard a man tag his woman as the devil’s daughter. What has she done to earn herself that title?

He replies,

We have only been married for 9 months but she is driving me nuts. When we are home chilling I can sense her watching me from the corner of my eye. I can hardly sleep due to fear of being stabbed while sleeping. She has some major nagging and insecurity issues. She is always thinking the worst of me even though I had the choice to stay single and avoid this bull crap.

Maurice asks,

Why did you marry her, what made you take that leap?

He replies,

I am 33 and she is 25, when we met in May 2013 she was the hottest girl I had ever met. Trust me dude she is hot but she definitely has psychological problems. She has a problem with her body, she keeps questioning her looks yet she has a coke bottle body to die for, she is a size 8 but for some reason when she looks in the mirror she sees a size 18. I have thought of having affairs but I am afraid of meeting another psycho. We would visit each other at least twice a month, every other weekend was our routine.

How much quality time away from social entertainment did you spend together?

She is more of an outdoor person so we were always at some event, at some party or clubbing. I love going out but not as much as she does so I accommodate what she wanted to keep the peace, it also got me laid so it was a win for everyone.

This is my deduction, I believe the fun that surrounded you and was the heart beat of your relationship clouded your judgement hence why you are in your predicament. You jumped into the deep end alone. She was not ready to take this journey with you. She most likely feels trapped in a bubble. People unfortunately sometimes follow through on something like marriage and never take a moment to envision what may lie ahead. She can’t tell you that she was not ready so instead she lashes out in her erratic intervals.

He replies,

Is that why she blames me for taking her away from her family and friends as she also accuses me of not loving her enough when all I do is give her attention and come home to her. I thought this is what she wanted. Where do we go from here?

Maurice replies,

Only the two of you can map out where you go from here. First, you need to have a sit down with her and tell her to hear you out and then she can respond once you are done. At that point, you need to tell her what she means to you, open up and don’t hold back. As you conclude your affirmation of your love for her you need to ask her if she was ready for marriage, you also need to ask her if she misses her life before marriage and tell her she needs to be honest to herself and that you will not judge her for telling you the truth. If you create that environment that will allow all to be revealed then from the revelations you can both decide on your future. You need to be prepared for the good or the bad but whatever you do do not sugarcoat or over look your individual expectations otherwise you will fall into a marriage of convenience.

He replies,

What if I want out, what if I already know I can’t be with her no more?

Maurice replies,

Well, that is the truth I was talking about, if you have psychologically clocked out then I see no reason for you to sugarcoat how you feel right now. Don’t be in it for the sake of society, be in it for you.
